What is DNS hijacking definition ?

DNS hijacking is the process by which a hacked DNS redirects users to webpages different from the originally wanted page. The goal, among other things, is to generate ad revenues through ppc ads.

A more legal kind of DNS hijacking may be used by some ISPs. They redirect users to their search pages when they are asking for a page that no longer exists.
