What is IAB’s creative specs database definition ?

Launched in 2007, the IAB’s Creative Specs Database is a centralized database of specifications for ad units which encompasses the ad specs of more than 100 major US publishers.

According to the IAB, the goal of the database creation was to offer advertising agencies a single location to access the specs they need and to greatly simplify the interactive media buying process for both buyers and sellers.
