What is IAB’s spiders and bots list definition ?

IAB/ABCe international spiders & bots list is sold (see price below) by the IAB to filter out all non-human, robotic activity in counting ad impressions and site traffic.

The list includes more than 400 bots and spiders signatures and is offered to publishers, analytics firms, and third-party ad servers.

The use of the list is required for compliance to the IAB’s Client Side Counting (CSC) Measurement Guidelines for “double pass” filtering and prevent overcounting ad impressions and traffic.

See also bot traffic.
