What is Perceived latency definition ?

Perceived latency is the time needed for loading all visible elements on a webpage from a user point of view. Perceived latency affects consumer experience and may provoke visit abandon.

Perceived latency differs form real or mesasured latency as the user may think that the page is completly loaded while third party tags are still loading in the background.

The use of asynchronous tags is a way to reduce perceived latency.
