Programmatic selling is the counterpart of programmatic buying in digital advertising ecosystem.

Programmatic selling is the fact of auctioning ad impressions in real time on an ad exchange. Programmatic selling is also done through SSPs.

Programmatic selling has been initially used for low quality inventory and standard formats but premium inventory and elaborate ad units are more and more concerned.

Programmatic selling allows to cut selling costs at ad ops level but it may also sometimes lead to lower CPMs.
