What is Scent marketing definition ?

Scent marketing, also known as aroma or smell marketing, is using odors for marketing and commercial purposes.

Scent marketing can be applied to the product, to the point of sale and less frequently to the communication.

The scent component is obviously very important for hygiene, beauty and food products but it can also affect other varied products (erasers, flip-flops...).

At the point of purchase, scent diffusers can be used to favor the quality of the customer experience, to reinforce the image of a brand by the diffusion of an odor related to its universe or to a particular product.

The scent dimension can also be used as part of a direct marketing campaign or for some print ads with perfumed paper or scent supports to scratch.
