In general advertising context, the share of voice refers to the share of ad placements held by an advertiser. The share of voice may be calculated for a given medium or given advertising seller - publisher - and for a given period.

In digital advertising context, the share of voice may be calculated for a set of ad impressions, for a publisher, for a website or for a web page.

Some ad units like homepage takeovers or roadblocks guarantee a 100% share of voice.
